Larry Merchant with a funny observation.

I am watching the Moorer-Foreman fight and I cant get over how funny it is that Merchant says as the 7th round draws to a close.

"I think the myth of George's power has been exposed by Michael Moorer, he just doesent have the quickness to make the force of a knockout"

and then after a great Teddy Atlas-ism

:I don't know who writes Teddy's scripts but sign him up"

    larry was right.

i watched 5-6 rounds of the foreman-moorer fight and george got completely dominated. the old man just didn't have it anymore. moorer was too quick and young. i couldn't bear to watch george get beat anymore......

what was the official score on that fight anyway? 119-109?

foreman won by KO, maybe you are thinking of Holyfield, George really got his ass whooped in that one.

        ha ha ha

        i was being sarcastic. sorry.

george looked better in the holyfield fight imo. he was a bit younger.

unfortunately holyfield didn't have moorer's whiskers.

george should've retired after the moorer fight. he didn't need the savarese and briggs fights. plus he could've done without the shulz controversy.......

I thought George looked good against Moorer tbh, he landed a lot of good shots early and i scored it 2-1-1 after 4 in favor of moorer. People romanticize it into a complete 1 sided ass whooping but George really did land some nice shot throughout the fight.

i thought he was more active in the holy fight. i think he did better at the holy fight as well.

he took a beating but holy is a better fighter than moorer.

i loved how before the ko in between rounds teddy told moorer that foreman was trying to set him up with a right......a few rounds later BOOM!

teddy was a good trainer. don't see him in the corner much though. he was awful at predicting fights for espn.......

he was more active but landed less. plus holyfield hit him with everything but the kitchen sink. Moorer mostly jabbed him to death.

big difference fighting holy and double m.

he might've been beaten up less by moorer and landed more on moorer but that doesn't mean he was better against moorer.

i think he was better against holy it's just holy was better than mm. see my point? although taking a 15 punch combo from holy didn't look to good for that foreman......

moorer was so bitter against the old man.

in between rounds even teddy told mm that foreman was trying to set him up with that right.
