"Pavlik and Winky begin to negotiate and Anthony Mundine embarasses his fans once again!

Winky Wright had previously demanded so much money it had priced him out of a fight with Kelly Pavlik. This week, Arum has made a statement, saying that Winky has decreased the amount of money he requires and negotiations are underway. This is great news for Winky Wright fans, as the fight will most likely take place. Both Pavlik and Winky want this fight and even though Winky will have ring rust, he is class and will be highly competitive.

Apart from Arthur Abraham who had an impressive TKO win over Edison Miranda, Winky is Pavlik's biggest threat at MW. The other option for Pavlik is to fight the winner of Sturm vs Griffin which is on this saturday night in Germany.

On the subject of MW's Anthony Mundine has embarassed himself and his fans once again. After making bold statements to the media about wanting to fight Winky Wright, Jermain Taylor and Kelly Pavlik he is set to fight Crazy Kim on the 30th of July. Mundine has made no attempt to get a big fight and the Australian media continue to give him coverage and exposure. Most likely Mundine will have another tune up fight before the rematch with Danny Green. It looks like it will always be a case of "what could have been?" for Mundine, who has wasted a lot of potential and ability. A fight against a top 10 fighter would have made his fans happy and the boxing world. Mundine continues to ridicule the sport by fighting in constant mismatches.

Conclusion : While there isn't much depth in the MW division. It is sure heating up between the top 5 fighters. Pavlik will likely fight Winky in October. And Sturm may fight Abraham. So much is still speculation, although one thing is true, we may have a unified MW champion with all 4 belts by the end of 2009."

Also I disagree Middleweight is "lacking depth", granted it isn't the best division it's a division with Great champions and a bunch of good contenders.

Kind of like the middleweights of the late 90s, but I think the middlweights of the 90s might be better then these. I don't believe in really "weak divisions" unless it's painfully obvious (see: Jr.middleweight)
