Amir Khan has extended his contract with promoter Frank Warren.
Following the Bolton lightweight's victory over Michael Gomez in June there was speculation of a split, but that has now been laid to rest.
Khan, 21, had previously declared his intention to win a world title in 2008 but Warren has instead described the boxer as a "work in progress".
Khan is set for talks with American Freddie Roach and several other coaches as he seeks a permanent trainer.
Khan's new deal with Warren - the details of which have not been disclosed - was announced at a news conference ahead of his next scheduled fight, which will take place on 6 September at the Manchester Evening News Arena.
Khan will be fighting on the same card as Alex Arthur, who will be making a second defence of his WBO super-featherweight title against Nicky Cook.
Khan's opponent will be announced later this week and the 2004 Olympic silver medallist will be aiming to extend his run to 19 straight victories since turning professional, after deciding to commit his immediate future to Frank Warren's camp.
"Frank is a great promoter and is one of the best matchmakers out there, so with him on my side then my dream of becoming a world champion will definitely come true," said Khan.
"I definitely want a big fight at the end of this year.
"I want to fight in America and I want it to be a big world title fight and it's only round the corner. If I didn't think I could win fights against the world champions then I wouldn't be saying all this.
"But I say it because I know I'm capable of doing it."
Khan has previously declared his intention to win a world title before his 22nd birthday in December, but his decision to continue his association with Warren looks to have ended that ambition.
Khan was floored in the second round of his fifth-round stoppage win against Michael Gomez last month and, despite many positives, struggled to prove himself a world title contender.
The Bolton fighter was trained by Dean Powell for the Gomez fight following his split with Oliver Harrison in April, and the pressing issue of finding a permanent trainer remains unresolved.
Roach, who has trained Mike Tyson and Bernard Hopkins, is among several prospective trainers to have offered their services.
"Amir is going to America to speak to different coaches and has to see how he gets on with them," said Warren.
"It's a major decision to make because Amir is coming up to his 19th professional fight and whoever he chooses has to be for keeps."
