Might have something to do with the fact that it was 2005 and Tito was way past his prime.

At 32 he was way past his prime? You could argue that 160 was above his best weight, but then Winky Wright has never won a title above 154.

Age has nothing to do with it...

So knocking out 5 of his last 6 opponents (undefeated Vargas, Joppy, Mayorga, etc) led you to believe that he was waaaay past his prime? His most recent being 7 months before the Winky fight.

Erm what? If that is the best performance of Roy's career, let alone modern era boxing we really are in trouble.

Don't know if it's the best, but I like B-Hop against Antonio Tarver. He was perfect. Granted Tarver wasn't at the top of his game, but B-Hop made him look silly.

                  Relax kid.

Vargas and Joppy were two fights he had in his prime and Mayorga is not the type of fighter you want to use as an example to prop your fighter up.

My guess is even Tito knew he was shot, hence his first retirement way back in 2002.

Winky Wright was a bad matchup for Tito at any time in Tito's career. First he was way past his prime, now he was shot? Make up your mind. He retired because he didn't need the money and because he had suffered 2 defeats in 4 fights, both of them pretty one sided. Shot? That's funny, kid.

Shot is just a word, so don't get your panties in a bunch. My point is he was definitely past his prime. I'll make a poll and we will see what the others on this forum think.
