Calzaghe is very overrated. He has no punching power, fights opponents who are also overrated (e.g. Hopkins, Lacy), and never strays too far outside of Wales.
    Pavlik would destroy him.

Calzaghe and Kessler would beat him comfortably, Abraham might do too.
Like you abadger I said Pavlik. I love him as a fighter and I think he's entertaining and so on, but he is overrated. He is overrated because putting him at around no.5 p4p is pretty exaggerated IMHO.

how can having no punching power make you overrated?pavlik has only beat taylor and miranda and miranda just got knocked out worst than he did against kelly and the last good fight taylor had was against joppy

Kelly Pavlik is by far the most overrated boxer today. Who has he beat?

Edison Miranda: A wild, defence-free slugger with virtually no technical skill. Hyped on the basis of his power alone.

Jermain Taylor (twice): A technically skillful fighter, but an overrated fighter nonetheless. He was lucky to walk away with two decisions over Hopkins, although admittedly I thought he just won both, but he clearly lost to Winky and severely struggled against a blown-up welterweight in Cory Spinks. Taylor himself was unlucky in not getting a stoppage over Pavlik in the first fight, considering how many referees would have stopped it in the 2nd. Pavlik looked completely gone. His eyes were completely glazed.

The double standards of his fans are amazing of course. The same people call an 11-year, double weight Ring champion with at least 6 legitimately impressive wins on his resume overrated while proclaiming Kelly Pavlik the next Marvin Hagler!

I even like Kelly Pavlik, but I see things objectively and he isn't worth his hype yet.
i think its a bit unfair to stick khan in there hes a young prospect and one that is far from being the finished article.

all the other fighters that youve mentioned are accomplished fighters who have all contested at the world title level out of all them i would sy that pavlik is the most over rated. not necesarily by the sanctioning bodies but the fans and casual fans who want to see a white champion and jump on the bandwagon.
Replace white with british

                    *struggles to contain laughter*

You seriously think that? Have you read the resumes of both boxers? Did you conclude that Calzaghe's resume is bad because you haven't heard of some of the fighters? I'm going to swing in the dark and say that is exactly how you came to the conclusion, presuming of course that you have actually read his resume. Ignorance is not a virtue.

Same here. I too quite like the way he has been winning his fights recently, but he simply is not P4P material at this point.
