It would be a close fight but my money would be on Floyd. Benitez had no punch and his focus wasn't nearly as sharp as Mayweather's.

Benitez could punch, don't know where you got that idea. As for focus outside the ring, yeah, he slacked, but between those ropes nobody had focus like Benitez.

Not a chance in hell Floyd beats him at 147. Benitez is too big, too smart, and too slick.

Floyd doesn't have the work-rate that Leonard used to wear Benitez down, and there is no way Floyd could make Benitez come at him.
I usually don't like what you have to say but your on point!
            I agree word for word..

Floyd isn't a volume puncher.. Benitez would win on volume punching..

Boxers just like football players have evolved in their level of attainable skills as time has passed. Had they both existed in the same era of boxing I would give it to my boy Wilfredo but a 2007 Floyd would give him the business without a doubt.

I'd pick Benitez to win a close decision, it would be a technical chessmatch between 2 defensive fighters but Benitez is the naturally bigger man and has the style to cause Mayweather problems.

Benitez was at best an average puncher. Almot all his KO's were over soft competition. Inside the ring he would goof off and let his mind drift. His father/trainer used to slap him between rounds to get him to pay attention. Early in his career Benitez was a brilliant fighter, but started declining prematurely and was washed up by the time he was 25. I saw both Benitez and Mayweather fight at 147, and IMO Floyd was better.

To the idiot Fake FLoyd fans who said Gayweather will win against Benitez...

                      WTF are you thinking.

How can Gayweather win against a HOF when he ducks top welters in his own time.

                      DUh!

This is a simple comparison by logical analogy.

                      Duh!

"Im gonna woop your 25 year old brother's face but Im afraid to fight the 14 year old younger brother".

                      Damn!

Simple logical analogy and these crackheads still lack it.

                      Damn!
