Sadly I missed the fight, can anyone tell me how my boy Sturm looked? I know he won but did he look good, Average or bad?

He looked very good, considering that Griffin is a strong and very determined fighter. Sturm's defense was excellent as usual, most of Griffin's punches either missed or landed on Felix's gloves. Sturm had a brilliant 11th round, where he went on the offensive and completely dominated.Comment

Overall boring fight. He did what fans were expecting of him. Nothing impressive. Jab was spectacular "as usual". Couple of hard shots, never hurt his opponent. Overall fight was average. He won that is what counts I guess. In my opinion Pavlick or AA would BOTH get him out under 9.Comment

I actually think sturm can easily make 154. I think he would be much more dominant. I don't know if this has been discussed, I am sure fans have pointed it out, but it seems to me he is a smaller middle comparing him to the bigger ones(pavlick, aa, zuniga, etc).Comment

Sturm could be a pretty good fighter if he'd throw more. I don't understand why the guy is so hesistant at times. Maybe he feels he is incapable of defending himself when he's letting his hands go.
I always considered Sturm a fairly strong Middleweight. Not a huge guy like Pavlik, but he looks physically strong and he's right there around 6'0 if I'm not mistaken. After 33 fights he needs to step up to the plate and take on a top level opponent though. Griffin and Castillejo are good contenders, but Sturm really needs to test himself.I actually think sturm can easily make 154. I think he would be much more dominant. It was a good competitive fight untill the middle rounds where Sturm took over. Griffin was working well but not scoring enough to warrant the effort. Sturm worked well off the jab and showcased his fine defense. When Sturm started to dominate the fight got kinda dull untill the 11th where Sturm finally opened up after catching Griffin with 2 consecutive hard righthanders.
In the end it was a sure decision for Sturm. I was left with the feeling that Sturm perhaps overestimated his opponent. The 11th round proved that he could Griffin so in retrospect I think he should have taken a few more chances earlier in the fight.
