Looks like middleweight contender John Duddy (25-0, 17 KOs) will get a title shot in his next fight. But it won't be against Kelly Pavlik, Arthur Abraham or Felix Sturm. Duddy plans to drop down to junior middleweight to challange 38-year-old IBF champion (42-10-1, 21 KOs) Verno Phillips according to the BBC. An agreement has been reached with the Phillips camp to make the fight by the end of October. No location or TV has been lined up as of yet.

It was only a matter of time before some young guy's camped lined up Verno for a title shot, it just happeans to be Duddy that gets the honor. It is an interesting fight Verno might be able to get the job done because he is a tough hard nosed guy and going down to 154 might effect Duddy in a bad way. That said Verno is a much smaller guy so i have to go with Duddy because he is the bigger, younger, fresher and stronger guy also it is not like Verno is some boxing master so i think Duddy will be able to use his advantages.

I'll go with Duddy by decision. I wouldn't be shocked if Verno was to win though, it really could go either way.
