Maybe you should watch the fight for yourself and come to your own assumptions.

Oh, it was a great butt. He did it on purpose. You clearly see this. Watch...He is kneeling ducking ko blows, and throws his right after kneeling up, and Torres throws his right and boom, the on purpose hedbutt occurs. Great butt by Holt lol. Oh, the right hand was just plain luck.

The luck to land the shot played into it because of the opportunity the butt created.

You can clearly notice as Holt's head bobs to 'his' right, Torres' head simultaneously jerks to 'HIS right, or Holt's left before he stumbled to HIS left and against the ropes. Meaning that Torres was reacting to something else that propelled him against the ropes. A head butt to the jaw at that moment would have jerked Torres' head in the opposite direction. Rather, it looks like Torres responded to an initial right hand, leading up to the fatal one. This observation is also supported by the opinion of another boxingscene staff writer who was at ring side.

"Holt caught Torres with a right hand that put him to the ropes and Holt's second right hand was a devastating punch that slumped a motionless Torres into a seated position on the middle rope, face down, out cold, and the fight was over just 1:01 into the first round."

              and from another boxingscene observer:

"Holt was knocked down again and appeared to be in serious trouble. As Torres moved in for the kill, Holt stood his ground and Torres walked right into a hook [right hook] and a right hand that knocked him out cold."

We call it the old shoulder headbutt trick. You learn this from the greats. All you have to do is wait until you are hurt and knocked down twice, get desperate, butt, and then land a lucky right hand. This will leave your opponent like a sagging lump of carcass flesh.

No, the right was lucky, the butt was perfectly timed and on purpose too.

I don't think it was on purpose.

Let me ask you a question, Do you think that the Holt would have been able to land that punch regardless of whether or not a head-butt occurred?
Yeah, he landed it last fight. You know, fighters are going to start doing this...butting fighters on purpose while hurt and in the heat of the action and laying them out on their knees by butting them before landing a lucky big punch.

That is all I care about. This is one poster who gave an objective response.
