If you could bring back any boxer who has retired in the last 10 years, who would you bring back and whom would you match him up against??
Any fighter who has retired from 98 till now and name an opponent for this fighter. Present fighter please!
I know it doesnt mean much as to the landscape of the Light Welterweight division, but I would bring back Micky Ward and have him face off against Emmanuel Augustus for the second time. I would also love to see this fight happen in a big venue, something in say Las Vegas, and give the 2 fighters a hefty check. Augustus has yet to make a real big money fight and probably never will....even tho he is in fact one of the great entertainment value fighters. And Ward hit the jackpot with his Gatti trilogies, and that was really a great thing to see. A fighter coming out of Lowell, MA was able to land a huge payday on his last fight, not to mention just how great of a fight it was. I think Augustus has always been great to watch, he does come up short in a lot of his past big fights, and often times takes rounds, and even fights off but the guy is a warrior. It was a great 1st fight and I think it would be even better 2nd fight. Like i said won't do much for the landscape of the division, but it would be damn fun to watch it again.
Note, they threw over 2000 punches in the first fight and landed close to 800 between them. Great inside fight and was a lot closer then the 2 judges scorecards had it.
