Not just the HBO crew, the whole boxing industry and the hater fans CAN'T BEAR the thought Mayweather will remain undefeated, they are enraged when they think about it. All they want is Mayweather to return as an old man so they can have their way with him, NO MATTER WHO THE VEHICLE is, whether it is Hoya, Hatton, Cotto... Curiously enough no american black fighter is interesting as a vehicle for Mayweather's downfall, so you can say race is an important factor. Even more curious is the fact Cotto is himself a back man. Priceless is Cotto's fans claiming he isn't. The general mentality in boxing is racist. Do you think if a white welterweight built up a record as Shane Mosley did would he be thrown to the young lions at age 36? And Shane as been nothing but friendly to all people, he was even a sparring partner for Oscar (90's movie cliché where the black dude is the sidekick to help the white star gladly, even if it costs his life). In return he's a stepping stone at 36 for Cotto and gets no easy fights in between. Anyone saying Shane, retire? Hell no! They don't care, he could get permanently hurt for all they care. They will pay him a visit in the hospital and maybe a tear for tv. If he was white however he would never have moved up to fight Forrest or Winky, would have retired as soon as he slowed down with little to no noise or criticism and would remain to this date the best welterweight fighter who ever lived. Seeing what treat Calzaghe got being no more than an average to good fighter, i can certainly see that happening, ohhhh yeah.
As a fan I'm glad Mayweather has his mind right right now. He likes to play a fool for the media but in reality he's really smart and knows exactly what's going on, the bigger picture you know.
