Just forget about Floyd's bitching anyway.
He seriously just claimed that he retired from boxing because of the politics. The same politics that would have easily allowed him to keep fighting Oscar and Hatton as many times as he wanted for 20 mill a pop.Comment

I think a lot of people in boxing dislike him. About the only commentator I've heard that likes Floyd is by surprise Teddy Atlas.
Its kinda sad because I really think Floyd is a good guy, he is just very out spoken. All the trash talking he does I get the feeling is usually just to try to get more draw to the fights. I mean you see how much he trashed Hatton before the fight but after the fight you would have thought they were best friends.
And argue if you want, but when Floyd talks about retirement and how people always think there is someone else he should beat he is completely true. What about Paul Williams? Cotto? Margarito? Mosley? Quintana? Thats 3 years of fights right there he would have to do before some people would think he should retire. And by 3 years there will be more names to that list.
WTF? HA HA HA.Comment

Thing is who doesn't see right threw Floyd? they are right for that because they are questioning his choice as of recent years. he wasn't getting that treatment bfore he began talking all this money ****.. of course they gonna press you like that because you showing no respect to the sport, you fighting for money and abandoned the pride of a fighter, you an entertainer now because you only move up for a fight depending on the price.
see I would've respected it more if Floyd just said I'm retiring because I can't take the training camps anymore, the fights and the pain, maybe his body CAN'T take it no more BUT when you say the reason you wont fight Cotto is due to his revenue then you are a joke because REGARDLESS of revenue Cotto is the ONLY other fight out there for Floyd especially if Cotto beats Tony, now because of money issues you wont grant Boxing the biggest Welterweight megafight since De La Hoya-Trinidad?
his moves are shaky because you mention Cotto and he talks about money and retirement but then signed to face Oscar again for absolutely no gain in terms of Boxing, Oscar is clearly not the same anymore and is not a legit Welterweight challenger for a Welterweight crown yet you'll sign to face him again but you wont sign to face the real threat to you, the other undefeated champion in your division and to me thats just wrong..
he's only who he is due to the people who pay to watch him fight and at this point he has failed for damn near 3 years to give the people what they REALLY want.. I can understand not fighting Cotto because of physical difficulties but don't say it's because of money because Cotto has a whole race of people behind him everytime he fights, he has VERY high popularity and is the biggest threat to Floyd, a flaw in Floyd's career 50 years from now if Floyd doesn't fight him. HBO has every reason to jump on Floyd homie, he doesn't do likeable things and even though I got love for Floyd he can't bypass truth and the truth here is Floyd got unfinished business and he's acting like there's nothing left to see here and there is..From a Fan Point of View, You are entitled to this opinion about a Floyd...
Because you pay to see him fight
But The HBO crew does not pay to see him fight....
They get paid to see him fight...
Therefore they have a responsibility to not call the fight as Fan, but as a Paid and Fair Commentator....
and the problem is, that they dont...
Like I said before They are Paid and have a responsibility to the sport to be FAIR COMMENTATOR'S, not AVID FANS.... SO any bias they have against certain fighters should be set aside as soon as they start calling the fight
The Point Floyd is Trying to Make is that, The HBO crew Calls His fights recently as if they want him to Lose...
And being the Premiere Boxing Network, They should at Least Have the Perception that they dont care who wins the fight...But they dont...
YOU GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE MAYWEATHER LOSE...
Thats why He feels it is Racism...Because They do not give off the Perception that they are netural...Last edited by Horus; 07-05-2008, 08:35 AM.Comment

All Black people notice that its just we ignore it, but u could tell from Kelly Pavilik other then beating Jermaine Taylors half ass, he ain't no special ****ing boxer but they praise him like something else for real. I also remember when Lampley caught that case for smacking his wife up. Stewards a coon with no special fighters anymore. He nutdrags whatever Lampley and Merchant say (except for MAX)I think they're pieces of **** too.Whenever I watch replays I turn them on mute and put on music.Comment

Too Add to That Point:
When Manny Pacquaio Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Manny Pacquaio LOSE... BECAUSE PACQUIAO FIGHTS THE BEST OF THE BEST!
When Oscar De La Hoya Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Oscar De La Hoya LOSE... Because Oscar goes for the best too, he may not deserve the fights but he does fight them, he went hard with Bernard and showed heart, he dug deep and has proven for more than 10 years his heart, he's gone toe to toe and still at this juncture has not toned down and become a Vargas or a Yory Boy he remained a force up until his last year as a fighter fighting the best that was available to him, reason enough?
When Kelly Pavlik Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Kelly Pavlik LOSE... Because Kelly Pavlik has fought the best and has only shown more interests in fighting the other bests of his weight, he's talking about Joe Calzaghe dogz he wants us Boxing fans to enjoy the fights, to see NOT the fights that just fatten his pockets but the fights the fans want to see. he beat Jermain Taylor and Edison Miranda and is in a string of good solid wins as undefeated and undisputed Middleweight champion of the world, he's giving us what we want so there is no need to hold that bitterness towards him.
and more recently When Miguel Cotto Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Miguel Cotto LOSE... Because Cotto fights the best of the best and in his tune ups he fights solid and proven competitors who were past or present world champion or have at least fought for belts. in less than 2 years Cotto beat and has signed to face 2 guys that Floyd was highly regarded as ducking them, he beat up guys who went on to become world champions and has taken undefeated marks from Kelson Pinto, Ricardo Torres and Paulie Malignaggi. he only steps UP in class as he goes fourth while Floyd rather rematch an irrelevant fight against a man WAYY past prime just for his own ****ing pockets, not giving a **** what we want. they don't bash Cotto because Cotto fights everybody and he gives us thrilling bouts against the best of HIS weight class and has still remained undefeated after facing the likes of these guys.
and the most obvious in the Mayweather-Hatton Fight,
YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Hatton LOSE... you bugging yo HBO was just trying it's best to manifest the image Floyd Mayweather created, the ****y, flashy arrogant mother****er people love to hate so they painted Hatton as this warrior who will come and do his thing but it was more of a marketing scheme, it was more to sell the fight as a worthy show instead of the incredibly obvious mismatch that it was. bottom line HBO are just calling what they see, what Floyd gives them to work with, he doesn't have the same will to fight as Manny Pacquiao so they don't show him the same love and since he paints himself like an ******* they diss him, plain and simple, and this is coming from a ***** that likes Floyd too.
But you did get the Feeking that they wanted Mayweather to LOSE...
another example:
In the Jermaine Taylor fight against Kelly Pavlik
all you heard throughout the Fight was, What Jermaine Taylor was going to do wrong, and what he is doing wrong, and vice vesa What Kelly Pavlik was going to do right and what he was doing right.... because Jermain was doing everything wrong, he was too tense, he expended too much energy just in his upper lateral movement, he threw a lot of meaningless punches and pulled straight back allowing Pavlik to connect with his straight hand while the only thing wrong Pavlik was doing was at times leaving himself open to be hit but he would make Jermain pay too, there wasn't as much **** to say about Pavlik as there was Jermain because Jermain was ****in up, all they did was commentate it.
and Once Again YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Kelly Pavlik LOSE...
Why Does The Perception exist with these fighters..??
Thats the Problem Mayweather Has with them...
IT SEEMS LIKE THEY WANT TO SEE HIM and certain fighters LOSE...
AND IF YOU ARE A FAIR MINDED COMMENTATOR THAT PERCEPTION SHOULD NOT EXIST...
BUT WITH THE HBO CREW IT DOES...
YOU GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE MAYWEATHERand certain fighters LOSE...
[B][COLOR="Red"]They are Paid to be FAIR COMMENTATOR'S, not AVID FANS.... SO any bias they have against certain fighters should be set aside as soon as they start calling the fightComment

plain and simple the announcers are out for the best interests of the fans, they need to engage with the audience so they speak on issues regarding fighters and their present status in the sport, whatever moves they made and whatever they have planned. their job is not to be a robot and just say what you see it's also to attract, to command the action accordingly and enhance the excitement, they call the action but they also drop their points of views on these matters. these men are professionals, they took classes for talking on TV and have been doing this for YEARS literally, to question their validity sounds ****** enough especially when most of what they say is true, it may be harsh as **** but undeniably true.. regardless it shouldn't even matter to a fighter what a network thinks of you, your job is to do nothing other than fight so why are you worried what these individuals think of you?Comment
