  • Julio Cesar Chavez Jr-Matt Vanda: Arum Steps Him Up

Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank told ESTO that the performance of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (37-0-1, 28KOs) on July 12 will help him decide on how fast the young fighter should be pushed. Chavez will be facing Matt "The Predator" Vanda (38-6, 21KOs) at the Palenque De La Expo in Sonora, Mexico. [details]

Top Rank is moving him along a little slow but I can deal with that. Still want to see him in there with Hector Camacho Jr.

matt vanda is not a step up
its more like a hometown exhibition show for chavez jr, anyway he deserves it after his brilliant performance over the undefeated italian

Is Vanda even serious about his career? I'd pick the guy who shows that he wants to win.

Arum is a money hungry bastard. He will milk the Chavez cash cow until it runs dry.

                  anyone catch the chavezjr/celaya broadcast?
it was pathetic. announcers were talking about celayas corner being pissed off because chavezjrs corner and the wbc didnt allow them to be at chavezs weigh in. they locked them out. and chavez looked big as a cow in that lackey performance!
what a clown. it looks like most of his fans in those cow arenas are part of the wresling crowd. it IS laughable.

Dude is like 21, he could get to almost 45 fights before he gets to someone that is top notch.
