Pro Training Gloves: Grant vs. Reyes

Which is better sparring glove.(opinion).

Id be getting 16 oz. Im not talking about pro fight gloves here.

well reyes are punchers gloves and sparring isnt really for hurting your opponent. A lot of pros use Grants or Winning for training/sparring for protection and save the reyes for pro fights when they are willing to sacrifice their hands to hurt their opponent (i.e. de la hoya, pacquiao, etc).

Grants still pack a punch and are really protective. Definately the Grants are better for sparring/training IMO. My trainer used to use Reyes 20oz and always would get swollen hands. Now he uses the Grant 20 oz and they feel like 18oz.

I personally use the Ringside IMF 18oz- very good value and great protection (I'm a pro guitarist so protection comes first)!!!!! Plus you can get them in velcro OR lace, when the Grants are just lace, which will save a lot of time in taking them on and off. You lose a little wrist protection with velcro (very little), but I always tape over my wraps anyway now for extra wrist protection, so its all good...

Thankss a lot. I used to use Everlast pro training gloves, but they are getting old. I'll probably go for the grant gloves next.

no prob man. i forgot one point- the grant gloves look sicckkkk, lol. I have the Black/Blue grant pro no-foul on order and may get matching blue grant training gloves down the line when i have the loot to match. Good luck brother.

I'd stay with Everlast. I feel the IMF are a bit too padded, I just switched back to Everlast and while the protection is a bit less, performance is better. I have a 16oz Grant Sparring pair and the inside material broke down quickly and the size looks wayyy bigger than 16 oz. Reyes are pretty good, but obviously a puncher's glove.

thanks. They do look sick. The Grant website only has red and black in stock, so unless I find another good site, ill probably get red.

i agree the grant gloves are easier on your hands and your sparring partner. when i spar with someone i dont like i break out my 16oz reyes gloves.

Grant gloves are better for your hands (since Reyes' are considered "punchers gloves" because of the distribution of the padding) Plus I think Grants look better.
