The difference is that a deal was in place and agreed to for Pavlik and Calzaghe to fight. Warren and Arum agreed to it and Calzaghe was the one who turned it down. Arum turns down all the fights for his fighters. Whether it's Pacquiao, Cotto, Pavlik or even Margarito if a fight got turned down it's because Arum turned it down and he always says the other guy wanted too much money even if that's not really true.

The only people i can see Pavlik losing to at this point in his career are Abraham (maybe), Kessler and Calzaghe, everyone else will get beaten.

Cotto will never fight above 154, if he even does fight at 154. His body isn't suited to pack on a lot of weight and he's only 5'8. He would be pretty fat and slow.

Williams I give a much higher chance. He will probably move up to 154 soon and then who knows maybe 160. His body is like Tommy Hearn's, then he would add muslce. But then again Pavlik will probably be at 168 in a couple years. Williams could win just an activity it would be like a Calzaghe-Pavlik fight.

ye but he also said that Pavlik is ducking Kessler, who is now considering to move to light heavyweight division. If you read his other posts you'll see that kayjay dislikes Pavlik

KayJay doesn't like Pavlik much, thinks he is overrated. I would not be surprised at all if that turned out to be true but I'd rather see it with my own eyes, saying 'he would lose anyway' is not a valid excuse.

Calzaghe can only blame himself for the criticism, he made the statements on how he would fight Pavlik next and how Roy Jones is shot. Then he turned down Pavlik for Jones...

But Pavlik has enough business to handle against Abraham, Winky, Kessler and others, it's not like Pavlik vs Calzaghe is the only match to be made. No big deal to me.

i wasnt too hot on the calzaghe fight either, the news just got so much reaction because people quickly turned joe into a mayweather. im not so sure what joe's personal prefrence is on the situation, but what his father said about Pavlik sealed the deal for me. his dad usually does the talking, and what he said definetly suggests they are afraid to take pavlik on

the fight i want to see is Pavlik-Abraham. I like both of those guys and it would be a great fight. Calzaghe match would also be entertaining, but unlike Joe, arthur has the punching power to make a difference in the turnaround of the fight at any given moment. of course we know that pavlik can do the same. Arthur has more one punch ko power than Pavlik though

I don't dislike Pavlik by any means. I went to his last fight and stood along the runway to cheer him on along with all the Youngstown natives who were there.

I just have a different assessment of his quality than some others on here.
