These are all very confusing lists. Some have stated that they are their future predictions, which is cool, but others seem to be from now. How can a fighter with either one or even no fights be ranked number or at all, in the case of Marquez? People, this is not who you like best. It's a ranking of the lightweights or that's what I'm getting from the title.

You can't have Pacquiao above the unified lightweight champion Campbell! You can't even have him above Casamayor. He probably shouldn't even be above some of the other guys. His win over Diaz was great and certainly puts him up there, but, not close to the top yet.

Campbell has to be first. He's the man who beat the man and owns the belts. There is no other place for him apart from first!
Casamayor really has to be second. He just stopped the undefeated young WBO champ Katsidis and is still recognised as the Ring lightweight champ.
This is where you can start arguing. Pacquiao could be third with Diaz, Guzman, Katsidis, Santa Cruz, D. Diaz following up in various order.

If anyone apart from Pacquiao had come up and beat Diaz they would still be ranked way below the other guys. Pacquiao's name shouldn't automatically put him above other guys who have been fighting at lightweight their whole careers and have beaten much more top competition.

People are ranking who HBO tells them are the best fighters out there. HBO tells them that Katsidis is the new Rocky Marciano, therefor he has to be.

Campbell can't be number one because Diaz had an off night. But David Diaz can't have an off night against Pacquiao because he doesn't have a TV contract with HBO. Plain and basic common sense.

Campbell is old because he beat the younger Juan Diaz only by a split decision. In Mexico. Winning the last seven rounds.

Marquez and his accomplishments at 130 and 126 qualify him for a higher ranking at 135. No they don't.

      I'm mostly being sarcastic.

        Why is Pacquiao number #1??????????

I would put Campbell or Diaz before i put Pacquiao at #1.

Pacquiao is what Floyd was, now its official. let the over rating begin?
