    Calzaghe's Done A Complete U-turn.

Since he is now slated to fight Roy Jones Jnr on 20th September, look what little piece I managed to dig out of his Autobiography, published only last year.

"Although Jones Jnr is still active, I would never want to fight him now. He's not the same fighter and I'd have nothing to gain by beating a shadow of what he once was. Jones was a great fighter in his day and a great name, but he's been knocked out twice, knocked out cold. What would I have to gain by knocking him out for a third time?"

I thought I remembered reading it, and managed to find it again.

That was when Roy was on his losing streak. Since winning he and a lot of ppl think he's doing a lot better. No big deal.

Hardly big news. Calzaghe was saying this all the time. Everyone knows this is a big money fight for him. And who can really blame him?

            $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It'd still be more competitive than a Pavlik fight though.

As everyone has already stated this one is about the luchini nothing else. Why do you think both fighters are promoting this themselves. It's a mega payday!

The problem with Calzaghe is, that he has talked down on other opponents for years, so now we don't know what he actually stands for.
                - Is Jones good or bad?.
                - Calzaghe for years claimed, that the US-fighters in there prime turn him down. Now, when he is in the position to peak and choose, he fights Jones?.

Calzaghe never says: "I will not fight X, i will fight Y" He always says: "X isn't
worthed to fight me, X isn't a name in the US, X isn't ready to fight me"

Only thing you can be sure to hear from Calzaghe is - "at the end off the day" 20 times in each interview - lol.

This just makes Calzaghe look bad.

He's coming to the end of his career, let the man get paid.

                    you cant blame him really.
this should be a massive payday. even more so with neither of them having a promoter to take huge cut.
if i was Joe with an undefeated record, in the top 2 pound for pound and hall of fame guaranteed i would take an easier fight as your last fight (which i am sure Joe thinks Jones is). Especially when its gonna make you twice the cash a pavlik fight would.
He has nothing to prove to anyone.

PERSONALLY tho i would rather see him fight pavlik. and i got a gut feeling that Roy is gonna roll back the years and knock Joe the **** out.
