How did Margarita get so much hype?

I have seen him before. Lots of fights I have seen of his. Usually when you lose a big fight like he did you fall off. Well Margo hasn't done much since that loss. Now he is hyped up like he can destroy anyone. Margo hasn't proved anything other than Cintron is crap.

The thing is Margarito had a lot of welterweight title defenses before Williams, in which his only flaw was, he started way too late.

Why not hype a guy who was champ for years, and fought everyone he could.

honestly I dont see the hype. I am a fan of his, I worked for his team for a while, I have been around him quite a bit and while his fans truely vibe with him, short of a few idiots who think he is David Banner angry, he is just an everday guy who connects with a lot of people in that manner

I for one wanted to see him get to a point where he got the recognition he deserved. I am not one to put superlatives on anyone so I do try and bring an honest thought about Tony that doesn't sit well with the nuhuggers he has on here

I really don't mind Margo much BUT I don't know why a lot of NSB posters are going nuts for him. I really would like to know why people think he will beat Cotto because I don't see how he got any better from the Williams fight and on. Don't want to hear the southpaw excuse either. How is Margo a different fighter from when he lost to Williams?

Margarito started too late against Williams. Here;s the thing. Cotto has never faced anyone to get in his grill and not back up. Cotto will have to do the boxing.

Cotto hung around 140, Margs was at 147 all along, and made a venture to 154.
If Cotto decides to trade, he's toast. If he boxes he has a chance.
I have never seen Margs way out of a fight, be it early be it late.

For the record, I think Floyd would box his ears off and win a UD but Cotto is gonna wanna war at times, and he will pay against a man bigger and tougher than him.
