Mikkel Kessler is against his promotor Mogens Palle's will, ordered to face german Danilo Haussler in his first defence.

WBA has just rejected protests by Team Palle and this fight is to go ahead before october 19.

Palle protested the fight claiming it would be a mismatch and has publicly stated that he wont stage this fight.

My take: This is definetely a mismatch. Haussler is shot and he will be a sitting duck. Look for Palle to pay him off, so Kessler can go to the US. This fight is much, much worse than a Vargas-fight.

I doubt it would be any more of a mismatch than Kessler vs Vargas.Let him take care of his mandatory and then worry about Showtime/HBO deals.

Pavlik faced Lockett who was also a mismatch mandatory but in the end he gave a crowd pleasing performance and gained some fans.If kessler dispatches him quickly like Pavlik did it may discourage the WBA.

Denmark has just had a fighter, Johny Jensen, who fought his last 2 fights with a brain injury. It has coursed an uproar and the ban-boxing bandwaggon are on a roll. If another disaster happens I'm certain pro-boxing is banned for good in Denmark.
