Not at all. The first few rounds were close and Mayweather wasnt catching Hatton EVERY time he came in.Every time Hatton came forward Mayweather would either land a lead right that snapped Hattons head back or iniciate a clinch to prevent Hatton from working on the inside. The only thing the ref could do was break it up as neither of them could throw on the inside. The ref did nothing ilegal in that fight.
But Cortez did what he was doing in the Soto fight. Stepping in WHILST PUNCHES WERE BEING THROWN.
Like has already been mentioned, Hatton wouldve still had to have pulled off an utter miracle to win but Cortez snuffed out any glimmer of a hope that he had.Comment

The back of the head? Or the top rope? Cortez didnt seem to know the difference. Do you?
Funny how Mayweather hit Hatton twice on the back of the head in the very same round as the point deduction in clear sight of Cortez but nothing was done.
Anyone who thinks Cortez's performance was anything but awful is blind. The way he reffed the Calzaghe and Soto fights were just further confirmation of his incompetence.Comment
