thats usually refered to as 'heart or 'character'

tyson had a great chin but little heart
hearns had a glass chin but a HUGE heart.

a lot of the posters here root for 1 or 2 boxers and have never seen a fight that wasn't on the card as their favorite guy.

sometimes the posts on this forum make me shake my head.

joe calzaghe is the greatest british boxer ever! really? better than lewis? wilde? uh huh.....

roberto duran wouldn't last one round with floyd jr.! really? i guess barkley and hagler didn't punch for **** huh?

pacquiao would beat anyone from 122-130! really? i guess salvador and arguello aren't on his level huh?

A fighter's chin measures how hard it is to hurt him. A fighter's heart measures how hard he fights back after he's been hurt. There's a difference some people don't seem to understand. This is why you might say guys like Gatti or Holyfield have great hearts, but not necessarily great chins. Same as someone else said analyzin Hearns and Tyson. Physical toughness is a part of what defines a "chin", but internal/mental strenghth is part of it too.

i agree but i think Heart is about mental toughness not submitting to the thoughts that are telling u to quit when it is getting tough etc

          Example Zab Judah ,Mike Tyson
