depends on what weight class though.

trinidad was more heavyhanded at welter and up.

oscar was pretty strong at lightweight and junior welter. i can't believe he got his first title at 130.

Oscar De La Hoya is a lefty.. there is no way Trinidad had more power in his left hand then De La Hoya. Oscar's left hook came natural. Tito landed a couple left hooks before really hurting Mayorga.. De La Hoya landed one.

If you don't see it coming it could and would hurt that much more.

Trinidad had more power, but Oscar's combination of power and speed make it the more effective shot to me.

I remember Mayorga saying that Oscar punches harder than Trinidad and it certainly looked like it when you compare the two fights.
Never knew Mayorga said that source? What a topic, as I would say that DLH didn't sit on his power like Tito, he boxed(moved a bit more), he didn't come in with wide legs like Tito till later in his career. Never really thought about who would have power if they both fought with that wide stance. But Oscar bounced on his feet and moved a bit better.

Oscar's hook was faster and had more snap on it and often caught opponents by surprise. Trinidad's hook was a little slower but had more power and often landed with a thud and did some serious damage when he landed it cleanly.

The way I see it is Trinidad had more pop in his left hook but some could see it coming but does who didnt were in some deep ****, as for De La Hoya, his is not only very strong but very fast and would come out of nowhere. This is DLHs round easily.

It was in an article that i read shortly after Mayorga was stopped by De La Hoya. I just searched the web and couldn't find it anywhere. I can understand why he would say that becuase if you look at both fights, Mayorga was effected by Oscar's shots more than he was with Trinidads. Oscar knocked him down in the first, dominated him and stopped in the sixth round. Mayorga actually won a few rounds against Trinidad, scored a flash knock down over him and it took Tito 8 rounds to stop him.

It is not that Oscar punches more than Trinidad that is not real... Oscar fought an fkd up Mayorga Tito always destroys his opponents and they are never the same... look at Vargas and Oscar did the same with Vargas he waits on Tito and then fights them when they are softened

                      uh huh.....

that doesn't sound like a biased opinion.

they both have great left hooks.
