There was never serious talks of the fight could've been made. This was all talk. Spads came out and was almost ko'd by sosa in 2000. Floyd didnt come up to lightweight until 2002 against castillo. Do you think fighters go into sparring matches to win, or work on their faults? Sparring is used to get yourself in shape and for all kinds of other reasons. Nobody comes out at the end of the day and says, I dominated sparring. lol Guys fight for years. You have your good days and bad.
