    WBC declares Soto-Lorenzo a no-contest

    Lorenzo won't get title, WBC declares Soto-Lorenzo a no-contest

The WBC has ruled that their 130lb interim title will not go to Francisco Lorenzo, even though Lorenzo received a controversial disqualification win over Humberto Soto in a WBC title fight on Saturday night in Las Vegas. WBC President Jose Sulaiman today announced that the WBC sees the fight as a "no contest" and Lorenzo not be getting the belt despite being declared the winner. Sulaiman called the DQ "one of the greatest injustices I've seen in a long time." The official Fight Fax records, however, will reflect the result as a disqualification win for Lorenzo, barring an unlikely change made by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

How come they didn't reverse Mayweather vs Castillo outcome?!
        It was an obvious robbery!

Thank God! Cortez has been tripping lately..I seriously think they need to drug test officials...Do you see how he looks during some fights?

            apples to oranges....

They rarely change a decision like that. It went the distance. This was stopped by the ref.

I don't agree with this. It was called a DQ, it should stay a DQ. Unless Soto or Lorenzo took performance enhancing drugs. It's not fair on all the other controversial decisions over the years.

                  This is good news!

And Sulaiman said it was "the worst injustice" he'd seen in a long time. That's how I saw it too.

Cortez should never be permitted to referee another fight.

Why didn't they reverse it to a win on Soto's record? This wasn't a no-contest fight this was a win on Sotos record, in either case soto gets screwed anyways...
