Will Tua win a World Title?

Let's take a break from Floyd , Joe and Manny and take the time to discuss another GREAT (lol) , Mr. David Tua.

All joking aside , Mr. Tua has his limitations but he was a very solid heavyweight with a very good resume.

He is currently scheduled to meet Arreola this year and the winner of Arreola/Tua is supposedly next for Samuel Peter.

I reviewed the Arreola/Witherspoon fight yesterday and I think Tua has more than a decent shot of beating Arreola. Arreola is not a fast guy , he's not a mover , his defense isn't that great , he has a tendency to square up against his opponent and he throws slow , looping right hands. He is the kind of guy a old , fat Tuaman could be very competitive with and I see Arreola on his back.

Now I'm positive if Arreola wins he'll get Peter but I'm not quite sure if David wins that Peter will go through with that fight. If the fight does go through I like Tua's chances. Tua has problems with boxers and movers or tall guys with good , strong jabs. I can't see Tua beating any other titlist at this point other than Peter. Peter will slug it out with Tua and in my opinion will end up on the wrong side of the KO.

My question is if Tua beats Arreola and gets his chance at Peter do you think Tua will finally get a World Title?

Yes. He'll ko Arreola and if he gets a shot at Peter he can win a belt.

No. Fat boy is overrated and he will never win a heavyweight belt.

You never know with the HW division not really being that strong he could. Plus with his chin and punching power. In the end though I would have to say no, because I feel like he's gonna lose to Arreola and his best days are behind him.

Doubtful, Peter is so overrated and is not even in my top 5 HWs, he will probably lose to Vitali if the fight happens. If not, then I still don't see Tua winning against Peter, his lack of workrate would hurt him, and he would only hoep for that KO IMO, and I don't think it would happen.

He simply wont. He's a B+ fighter at best. He's too short and slow for a heavyweight and has 0 skills.

i heard his in good shape.

not as bad when he was 255-260 when he fought lewis.

let me look up some video from last year.

he's slow as hell now (not that he was ever fast) but he still has pop.

arreola and peter ain't exactly larry holmes or greg page out there.

If Tua gets his act together and can condition himself mentally and physically to be in top form, I don't see why he couldn't beat Peter....

he is too short for a modern heavy. he just doesn't have tyson's speed and skills to compete with 6'3-4 guys.

i wouldn't say 0 skills though. he had solid head movement in his younger (less fat) days and okay parrying skills. he did win a bronze at the olympics and a bronze at the world championships.
