Bob Arum: "Manny Pacquiao vs. Edwin Valero is a Go!"

The Nevada State Athletic Commission is waiting for medical records of World Boxing Association super featherweight champion Edwin Valero who is being lined up for a title fight with newly crowned WBC lightweight champion Manny Pacquiao in November, hopefully in Las Vegas. [details]

      yup

valero will be too strong for the pacman he might knock pacman out killing the chance to fight guzman.

But at least pacman got a belt at lightweight so he acheived a great feat already even if he loss to Valero.

Valero is like miranda the guy can stop you with 1 punch.

natas why would you want pac and guz to fight?

so guzman can dance merengue every round..and run away from punches
        like he did with soto?

        soto said it clearly
"i didnt beat guzman, cause he didnt want to fight"

        cant say it better..

on another note, i hope this medical doesnt clear..
and soto gets a chance at pacman.

for if he beats soto, im done with all my mexican warriors and finally accept the fact that pac is untouchable.

How many guzman fights have you seen? Honestly...

Further, if guzman gets past campbell he proves he's amongst the best, which I know it sounds crazy and all but I prefer the best fighters to fight the best fighters. A fight with soto proves nothing. A fight with hatton proves nothing. Same with velaro, who hasn't accomplished anything really. Now, I'm not necessarily against any of these fights either, but after reading that article it seems he already has his next three opponents lined up.

            they fighting at 130 or 135 ?
seen valero vid clips and he looks good against the level of compitition he's faced. but pacs on a higher level. i'm not saying its a mismatch but feel that even on a bad night pacquiao is going to have fun with valero.

my guess is because all the other big names are fighting in sept (guzman/campbell, diaz/katsidis, casamayor/marquez) and pacquaio wants to fight in November. And as bob arum accurately pointed out, it would be a huge event. Velaro has already got a lot of mainstream coverage based on his 100% KO record.
