I dont think he was really bad. but the fact doesnt change that he got the decision many times when he clearly lost.
The Myth of Sven Ottke

Jesus Christ, bro. Ricky Hatton's father could have been the ref of that fight, Hatton was getting knocked the **** out. Stop with the Cortez nonsense already.
And if you're suggesting that Floyd vs. Castillo I was a robbery, then we'll end this conversation now.Comment

Ottke was a very successful amateur who made his style work in the pros.
I will give him credit for being a crafty defensive boxer but his lack of offense makes me doubt his chances against any of the greats on neutral grounds.
You should hate him though because he held up Calzaghe from unifying the titles. Just one of those situations when neither would come to the other one's home country to fight...

We hear a ton about that, get a grip. Yeah there's a world conspiracy, African Americans make up the illuminati which is why they are all so damn wealthy and Wladimir Klitschko would hold every belt in every weight class if it wasn't for a sinister cadre of jive-talking pimps holding him back from his birthright.
For the record I think Cortez is fishy but it has nothing to do with black or white and everything to do with green.Comment

That's not what I said.We hear a ton about that, get a grip. Yeah there's a world conspiracy, African Americans make up the illuminati which is why they are all so damn wealthy and Wladimir Klitschko would hold every belt in every weight class if it wasn't for a sinister cadre of jive-talking pimps holding him back from his birthright.
For the record I think Cortez is fishy but it has nothing to do with black or white and everything to do with green.
There is a belief in many people's minds that "black people are athletically superior and naturally better fighters". No conspiracy, just a silly notion similar to old ideas such as "white people are smarter" or "the world is flat".
And I agree with you about Cortez. It appeared to many people that he may have been paid to protect Mayweather against Hatton, and his behavior was strange in the Soto fight.Last edited by The Hammer; 06-30-2008, 09:58 PM.Comment
