The Farce is over
Monte was no great prospect at this point, but in reviewing his career it became clear: he only loses to good fighters (Cliff Couser notwithstanding) and there's no way I could put Fields up with the likes of Mesi, Klitschko, Rahman, Valuev, or Whitaker. That's when I figured the jig was up, as long as Barrett wasn't bought off like some of Fields' other foes (watch his previous fight for a laugh)Comment

The knockdown isn't as bad as i thought. With another ref Tye could have gotten another chance to recover too bad.
edit: just seen it again, i've seen refs count to 8 by the time Tye got up, looks to me that he could have gone on if he was allowed a second chance.Comment

... and so it was that the final Saturday in the month of June shall forever be remembered as Holy **** Day. Please bow your heads. It was written. He will rise again to judge the contenders and tomato cans.Comment

This was no surprise as he went life and death with Kendrick Releford a while back on versus.
I hope his payday was big.
He may be very entertaining on some ESPN type events.
He's big, can hit a little, and is very wide open, the hallmarks of an entertaining, albeit crude fighter.Comment
