Basically, Hatton will maul him and force pacman into a fight, pacman has to be prepared for 12 rounds of aggression, Hatton will be on him looking to break him down, granted hatton will get hit, but hes taken much worse from bigger punchers to be fair. Mayweather won using counterpunching and also being able to outmuscle hatton on the inside (shock of a lifetime). Hatton and Pacman going toe to toe may not be the best idea because hatton is actually pretty strong and manny wont have that size advantage, i also feel hatton is better than david diaz, who just stood there looking to get his ass handed to him. I am not sure this is the massacre for pacman everyone predicts.

Pacquiao needs to clean out the 135lb. division before he can talk about moving to 140lbs.

He needs to have a few fights before going up again in weight, I agree.

david diaz is the same size as hatton. david has about 17 fights at 140 and 147. please see video of pacquiao/diaz.

juan lazcano is a more natural lightweight and not much of a power puncher. please see video of hatton/lazcano.

ricky is better than david but by how much? david looked awful but do remember he was a u.s. olympian and he did beat zab judah in the amateurs twice so he's not completely devoid of skills.

on the other hand manny is much better than lazcano as well and you can see he does have power at 135.

make the fight happen , uncle bob!!!!!!

**** this fight in 2008. Maybe sometime later down the line they can do it for ****s & giggles (since the fight doesn't prove anything one way or the other), but I'm against it in '08.

Lightweight is the hot division right now so I'd expect Manny to hang around a little longer. Perhaps he'd fight Hatton at 140 as a one-off as RH has hinted at retiring.

Says you. I personally don't thnk much of Hatton but this time last year he was a top 10 P4P fighter. I don't see any LW's on that list.....

I can see hm taking the fight with Nate Campbell and beating him, I think Hatton will destroy Malignaggi in November and then they meet in the spring of 09.
If that does happen and Manny fights as well as he did on saturday and Hatton fights as poorly and still cant get a plan B then it could be a hard night for Hatton but i still fancy him to do the business but i do think it would probably have to be by KO as Manny will outscore him on the outside if he controls the fight. (IMO...)
