By Jake Donovan - With all of the controversy surrounding the first fight between junior welterweight titlist Ricardo Torres and challenger Kendall Holt, much discussion was raised on who would be the officials for this weekend’s rematch in Las Vegas, Nevada (SHOWTIME, Saturday 9PM ET/PT).
It was announced today that the state of Nevada is providing not only the referee, but also all three ringside officials. Veteran referee Jay Nady gets the call as the third man, while judging the bout will be Duane Ford, Burt Clements and Robert Hoyle.
The first match between Torres and Holt was fought in the Torres’ hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia. The fight was marred by controversy, an unruly crowd and a seemingly outgunned referee Geno Rodriguez, unable to maintain order in the ring as things grew out of control prior to and after Torres' come-from-behind 11th round stoppage.
