Calzaghe Haters: What Is It You Don't Like?

I like Calzaghe but i can see the reason people don't like him, for some people its ****** reasons like he slaps and is from britain but the main reason is his nuthugging fans, they can be ****ing ****** sometimes.

The worst Calzaghe haters - Chunk, Burner, Flawless, Terrible - tend to hate most or all white fighters, and root for black fighters. Part of it's racism. Another reason is nationalism (because he's Welsh).

I like him because he's a great fighter - I don't judge a man by the color of his skin, or what country he's from.

I keep telling everyone, Chunk is actually a Calzaghe nuthugger. I must admit though Tunney, you always say everything is about racism.

...but one of the replies in this thread did say he hated Calzaghe because he is white, so maybe its true in some cases.

I am often puzzled by the amount of hate Calzaghe gets on here, and have been wondering what is the root cause.

Its easy to say that his haters, usually Americans are biased because of nationality, but that doesn't explain much really. Even if you are a little nationalistic you still must have an opinion as to why Calzaghe does not deserve your respect.

My theory is you all actually just don't think he's a very good boxer, so if I'm right, could some of you please enlighten me as to why you feel this way? If not, then please share you hate and enlighten me anyway.

I don't hate calzaghe but I do think he is a tad overrated. I dislike his style of fighting just like I dislike hopkins style of fighting. throwing a couple of punches than going in for the hug. thats disgusting.

Haye is pretty much untested at HW, who knows what he's capable of? we'll soon find out.

I think it's about race and nationality, boxing has been revolved around USA for a long time but things are about to change, as soon as they see a foreign white boxer in the TOP 3 P4P rankings, they explode.
I believe that's good for us, it makes guys like Calzaghe and Manny even more special.

I don't think his fans on here are that bad really. Lucky13 says some extreme things from time to time, but it is funny to see the way he annoys people. In general I'd say Calzaghe's fans are quite realistic. Noone really claims he is GOAT or ATG like you see from Mayweather and Jones fans. If anything I'd say the things that seem to annoy people most about his fans are when they say stuff like he is better than/ would beat Hopkins/ Jones/ Toney, but even if you disagree with this, these aren't exactly RIDICULOUS statements to make, since Calzaghe is actually a very good boxer, probably better than the fighters each of those guys has lost to.
