Didn't this dude just get beat? How is it he's first in line for a vacated belt?

HBO will buy his fight making everyone's cut bigger. Right and wrong has nothing to do with it.

Yep. They invested way too much in Taylor to let him get away wit bein the disappointment he's been. They will give him whatever chance they can to get back to superstar form. Besides, he fought well enough in the 2nd fight wit Kelly that he deserves a chance at redeemin himself. It's just a paper belt anyway.

Many others deserve it more, but Taylor is American and the WBC always favors American fighters.

Taylor should have at least one win at 168 before he fights for the title.

Becasue Taylor is ever thing a champ should be, but because of losses he, doesnt hold that belt that pushed him to his maxium marquee as a guy who fights anybody and is a world champ..Taylor will beat Frich and Lacy he's bound for another championship but can he captilize and keep it for 20 yrs/1

                  1. Because the current title holder won't defend it.

                  2. Because with Calzaghe moving up, Taylor is the biggest money fighter in the division, and the WBC wants a piece of it.

                  3. Because you could easily argue that despite not having any fights yet at 168, he is just as deserving than any of the other fighters ranked in the top 10 by the WBC (obviously the other SMW title-holders are excluded from the rankings).
