Why do people go nuts after every hbo/sho main event?

I have only been here a few months and every single main event this board goes nuts. Countless numbers of threads and sarcastic posts about the victor of the fight saying they can beat all these fights. I understand a lot of people love to mock or are huge fans of a fighter but its kinda nuts when berto or even a lesser fighter wins and then you see posts about him taking down cotto or whoever. Im surprised we don't see posts about Calzaghe moving down to take a flyweight title from Calderon.

Big fights cause excitement homey. Sometimes people go a lil overborad wit it.

Well usually the best fights or the well known names are on HBO or Showtime. It does get overboard with some people though.

It's the way things work, it's tradition.

Well, It's a boxing forum. Why is it so weird that after a big fight, everyone wants to talk about it?

There's a difference between talking about it and going completey crazy with 10 million threads on the same subject.

Boxing fans by nature are front runners. Exaggerated praise for the winner and burying the loser is par for the course.
