    Losses tend to endear fighters to the public. Dempsey, Ali etc..

    If he comes back and dominates it'll make him more popular.

      Cotto is willing to fight the best that will fight him. In that way, he is great for boxing. But casual fans have never heard of Cotto. He isnt a huge draw because he doesnt have any kind of personality at all. Hardcore fans know and respect the guy, but him losing wouldnt change anything in the sport. He could beat God himself and he wouldnt be much of a draw outside of a couple spots.

        not at all if he loses to good opposition it just shows the strength of the ww division if marg beats him it shows that there were other names in that division beyond mayweather but they maybe didnt get the shine they deserved
