    The Official Pacquiao-Diaz Discussion Thread

There wasn't a uniform thread for discussions about the main event on page 1 so here it is. What are your picks for the main event?

I think this fight will look a little bit like the Pacquiao-Velasquez fight. Pacquiao will be cautiously aggressive early trying to pick his punches from a distance until he wears him down for a stoppage in the late rounds.

It could be dangerous though because Diaz is a bigger fighter. I think the fact that Pacquiao walks around at 150 usually will help him take the punches from Diaz.

I just hope it doesn't end too early, it should be great while it lasts though. Love him or hate him, Pacquiao is the most exciting fighter today and you can't deny that.

I don't think this fight will be over too soon, but Diaz does have a history of going down early in fights. If he makes a mistake early and Pacquiao can capitalize on it, then Pacquiao can get him out of there.

What I want to know about Diaz is this: Has he improved his ability to survive when in trouble? In his KO loss to Holt, his problem was that once he got hurt he didn't grab on or move his head, he just took the punches. That won't do him favors against Pacquiao.

David Diaz's physique suggests that he came to win this fight. He's fighting the best active fighter in the world right now and that creates a lot of incentive.

While I do think this was one of the safer options at 135, when guys like Campbell, Guzman, Casamayor and Juan Diaz are in the top 4-5, what is a safe option?

I think it will go into the later rounds, but I'm not sure who will win. I'd favor Pac, but Diaz looks like he's on roids and Pac has looked somewhat vulnerable lately and is moving up in weight. Could be too much for him to bear.

              The PPV is starting.

Prediction: Pacquiao will win by wide decision.

I think Pac looked more impressive against a better (though not much) version of Morales that Diaz fought.

If Pac loses, does that make Calzaghe #1 p4p?

Hey, at least it's not a boring night of undercards. Soto is one of my fav. fighters, and the other undercard matchups are at least intriguing. Good night for boxing, I'm a happy camper. Stream is good, I've got beer and pizza, and I'm ready to rock!!!

Lampley just mentioned how Pacquiao is an elite fighter as evidenced by him fighting for a title in his first fight in the division. Same can be said of Joan Guzman.
