    Families in boxing

If you were a world class boxer and had a brother that ****** what would you do? Like Manny Pac is great and his brother stinks. You know your brother is probably jealous, yet trying to live up to you. What do you say or do to keep your bro out of danger of getting hurt in the ring but without hurting your relationship with him. I bet it would be a tough to do. What about a father like Julio Cesar or Hearns they know their kids arent that good. This could translate into having like a dumb brother or a alkie for a brother. Just some food for thought.

You are right, it works both ways. It just seems like this stuff could cause friction in familes( which it has in mayweathers case). In human nature males are very ****y and it just seems like this is a sticky situation.

it's an issue but a minor one if they love and care for each other.

if they don't.......well you see the floyd family.

To me boxing is just a very weird sport because you can get really messed up. If you spend your whole life watching your dad in a sport you want to be him. Especially in boxing the crowds, the bright lights, the money, and combat is really appealing to young males. Unlike regular sports where you can follow your dad and not really risk yourself you dont have that in boxing. You may crave what your family member had but may not have the skills they did and your life could be over in a second. Its a dangerous calling and now that I think about it while watching fights I never really consider the dangers of boxing. I always root for a certain fighter to win and usually dont take into consideration how much pain these guys are going through. Love the sport, nothing like it.
