Sugar Ray Robinson vs Tommy Hearns?

There are many stereo types on this forum which people take exception to if they are broken. One of these being "Robinson is the GOAT, he can't be beat, EVER!" when in fact Robinson has lost 19 times. Yes, Robinson is a good candidate for GOAT and I believe he is, but to say he can't be beaten? The old saying "styles make fights" comes to mind.

I think Tommy Hearns has the power and boxing skill to beat Robinson or at least give him a hard 15 rounds, the only question for me would be if Hearns' chin would hold up to Robby's left hooks which makes this fight so intriguing. I'm not interested in the whole triangular theory one may bring up to tell me Leonard was better than Hearns and Leonard himself said Robinson was better than him. Leonard is a respectful guy but in the back of his mind he must think he has a good chance against Robinson, say it or not.

With all this said, who do you think wins this mythical match up?

I'll take Robinson late rounds KO.

    Around 10-15.

        Bold statement there.

I think Robinson would lose to Hagler but not sure about the others.

12 of his losses came after he was 40, he was never beat twice until he was 40. Only losses prior were to elite level fighters

I don't think Tommy would have the chin to stand in there with Ray for 15 rounds, he would need to land some huge right hands early. I would go with Robinson, most probably a mid to late rounds KO.
