Jermain Taylor vs Carl Froch, who wins?

I think skill is the difference and Froch is untested.
Maybe I'm being a little hard on Froch and maybe I'm overpraising Taylor but from what I've seen of Froch is only a good punch and very little defense and footwork.Comment

Yes I did.
As stated in another post I might overrate Taylor a bit. But then again maybe I aint. Maybe it's not just Pavlik who's got Taylors number.
I really like to watch Taylor at work. A fine boxer.Comment

He's good but his stamina and footwork are really not that great. He could have beaten Pavlik and Winky if he had better footwork and stamina, even a 41 year old Hopkins came on strong against Taylor and Taylor was the one gassing at the end of their fight!Comment

unless Froch shows us something else Taylor is a good class above him.
However Froch was a world class amatuer. He might have more than meets the eye.Comment

Froch is underrated. He has been avoided all his career. Froch is one bad mother.
Iv watched boxing all my life and have seen nothing close to Frochs power. When he lands it is sickening.
Watch out Taylor!!!!!!!! He should stay at middle if ou ask me.
Where will the fight be???? How about The City Ground, Nottingham.Comment

I voted Taylor but think Froch has a puncher's chance, and because if the fight goes into later rounds Taylor is more prone to get stopped as we have seen lately.
And thus far I have not seen any Froch defenders support their pick with anything other than, "Yeah well Carl Froch hits hard."
A lot of fighters hit hard (Miranda) but get KTFO when up against better boxers. I have not seen ANYTHING in Froch's videos to indicate he is a better boxer than Taylor. Nothing to hint that he is even close to Taylor, actually.
What about how low he holds his hands? Someone on another thread said Froch has stated that he can afford to hold his hands low because he has an iron chin. If that is true, he has the biggest cajones ever, but I don't think it's very likely that he can walk through punches all night and not get hurt. If he can, then he will make a very fun fighter to watch and a great champion... but again, it's not likely.
What about his awkward style? He seems to lunge forward with uppercuts and impressive crushing right hands (meanwhile left hand still at his side)... the bums he's fighting seem to get caught because they back straight up. Taylor had good head movement in the last fight, and is a great counter puncher. He will be landing a fair amount on Carl's chin if he tries this amateur crap in their fight.
Also those comparing Froch to Pavlik have never watched either fight. The only thing they seem to have in common is power. Pavlik is far more technically sound; he keeps his hands up and throws straight punches all night long, backing up his opponent. Froch keeps his hands down, chin out, is squared up half the time, and throws very few straight shots.
So yeah, Froch may have a big punch, but I don't remember seeing any of his fans honestly and fairly address his shortcomings.Comment
