Roger Mayweather in Richard Abril’s Corner on FNF

On Wednesday, Richard “El Tigre” Abril (10-0-1 5KO) missed the most important press conference of his relatively short professional career.. His opponent for this weeks Friday Night Fights on ESPN2 took it as proof that Abril had not been training or was afraid to stand face to face with Breidas Prescott (18-0 17KO) prior to fight night. To say that the Prescott camp was exuding confidence would be an understatement. Comments such as these were hurled around the press conference with no Richard Abril to counter them. [details]

There's no question that Roger is looking for the next little Floyd. This is why he stated that Richard reminds him of his nephew. If this youngster is as good as reported in this article, under Roger's tutorage he could be something real special. But only time will tell if Roger has major success with another boxer besides Floyd.

Roger needs to pickup any of Floyd Sr's scraps. He is no pedigree trainer like his brother is.

if ugly roger mayweather reminds abril of ugly boy floyd, there is no reason why abril is afraid to stand face-to-face prescott in a presscon. ugly boy floyd was afraid to fight cotto, so is abril afraid to see face-to-face prescott.

        prescott by knockout.

he's a solid boxer. you can argue that he's won every fight he's been in. i have not found the prescott fight and i did not see it on espn

roger mayweather cannot be taken seriously at this or any stage.

i was at the lundy fight and it was close. abril knocked him down but he was not hurt. he outboxed lundy in the beginning of the fight. he can box and he's tall. he does a decent job using his height

              he cannot punch hard.

rios via decision. he lacked potency at 135 considering how much it drained him against murray. he's the more eye catching fighter and he does know how to put the pressure on

abril likes to lean on his guy, too, and fend him off with his left hand. he wont be strong enough to do that against rios to the degree where it can keep him off of him

if the fight goes off closer to 140 i think rios will be able to better walk through abril's punches and that he may win via knockout
