another good fight in a stacked Lightweight division.

Trejo actually has a win over Santa Cruz, the guy who was robbed against Casamayor. odd. Santa Cruz has a bad chin, maybe this guy can punch well.

if it means anything, Trejo has only been stopped because of an injury.

Anthony Peterson, going into his 27th fight tonight, seems to be fighting very limited opposition. Fernando Trejo has 13 losses, and was KOed in his last fight by Bobby Pacquiao!

Interesting how Vanes Martirosyan, despite having less ring experience with only 19 fights, is facing a better opponent than Peterson: Angel Hernandez (28-6) who has been in with several good fighters such as Wright, Ouma, and Joval.

the KO came from an injury. Angel Hernandez has faced nice looking competition, but is older and hasnt really beat anyone of note, I dont think.

theyre both 22 I think...so all that tells me is that Peterson is more active. regardless, theyre both in with opponents that theyre supposed to beat.

The injury happened during the fight...

Hernandez, age 32 is actually a year younger than Trejo, age 33.

No, Peterson is over a year older than Martirosyan.
Vanes just turned 22, and Anthony has been 23 for awhile.

I agree they're both in with opponents they're supposed to beat. However, Hernandez being younger, injury-free, having 7 fewer losses, and having faced more good fighters will provide a stiffer test for Vanes.

But that's good for Vanes - weak opponents don't prepare young fighters for the big fights later on, so better opposition at a younger age will give him a better chance to improve.
