Jones is far from Frail or Weak. You knew you would get me on that one huh? If you want to compare physique , KO ratio or better fight opposition, I will. And as for age: Jones is barely a few years older than Joe. he has more fights, but about the same tread on the tires. He just got caught with a lucky punch and took the next fights too soon. Thats all. You should build up Jones, Joe will get more credit for the win. Or, if you take my stance on it. He will get less crap for the loss to the former P4P #1 boxer, and best SMW and LHW ever. Simple stuff. An intellegent Brit should pick on this easier, if a dumb "yank" can grasp it.

Don't take it too hard, you know I respect your opinion.

Like I said before.. Calzaghe is under contract with HBO for 3 fights in the U.S. The retirement announcement is just a ploy to increase the ratings for the 1st Jones vs. Calzaghe fight. The contract will likely have a rematch clause and who wont exercise a rematch clause to make all that dough again?

No one in their right mind can argue who has fought the best competition and who was the better fighter in their prime. Can anyone imagine Joe moving up to Heavyweight to win the world Heavyweight title? How quickly we forget. ROY JONES JR. is one of the greatest fighters of ALL TIME. If he's not washed up Calzaghe is getting an ass whupping.

Joe Calzaghe's last loss came as a young teenager and has taken down every pro fighter he has ever faced included some studs the last few years. And Roy Jones has beaten WHO lately? A fat Trinidad 20 lbs over his fighting weight? Who else has he beaten in years?

This is not to make less of Roy's talent, but his days are long past and Joe is not long past his prime.

The great Byron Mitchell dropped Calzaghe in Calzaghes prime.

Joe has consistently been on "***** mode" his entire career. Which is why he's not fighting Pavlik and just now fighting a 45 year old Hopkins, who by the way dropped THE GREAT Joe Calzaghe IN THE FIRST ROUND. Umm.. howd that happen? Calzaghe aint ****. Pavlik will paralyze Calzaghe and if Jones has 70% left in the tank he will easily outboxy Calzaghe. In their primes.. do you think Calzaghe (who was dropped by Bryon Mitchell in his prime) would beat Roy Jones Jr. in his prime? or Hopkins in his prime? Of course he could Byron Mitchell was a great fighter. NOT.

Come on, Carlisle. Do you really think Roy is going to kick Joe's ass? No one is arguing that Roy was awesome in his day but this is NOW. Do you need to look at a replay of Roy fighting The Road Warrior?

Do you need to go back and see Calzaghe on the seat of his pants in the 1st round against a 45 year old Hopkins after training for 16 weeks? A 45 year old Hopkins beats punchers not boxers who throw 1000 punches a fight. He wasnt able to throw all those punches against a 45 year old Hopkins. Jones is a boxer who has trouble with big sluggers (Tarver, Glen Johnson). Styles make fights. This is basically going to be a sparring match between two boxers. Jones will have fun in this fight.
