Except Alexis Arguello isn't just a "great name" It's an amazing name to have.

the other guys were good for their time too. He belongs no question and is the best Jr. Welter of all time, imo.

A lot of really good or really talented fighters go their entire careers without beating opponents who even approach an Arguello or Cervantes. Pryor beat both of these guys, in addition to some other top rated contenders, as someone already mentioned.

Couple this with the fact that he was an absolute buzzsaw, a truly gifted fighter, you have someone who deserves to be in the hall. Seriously, I would have been terrified of fighting him.

He is an ATG, and beat top contenders, not to mention a guy named Alexis Arguello twice who is a HOFer. He may not've gotten some big fights like he should've, but don't hold that against him.

Not at all, Im just going off of resume and Im not saying he shouldnt be in just throwing the question out there. Even though Arguello was great, a good big man mostly beats a good little man right? Just throwing it out there.

One more thing how does one look at the whole bottle incident? Who's to say he wasnt doing that his whole career? To me that's like a steroid issue of today, once you know a guy has used them, in my mind its hard not to wonder if that individual did it all the time, like with James Toney and Roy Jones, who's to say they were not juicing for a long time? You cant say they wasnt. Especially with Toney, you can almost tell after he got to heavy when he was just by looking at his body, look at him during the Holyfield fight, the Rydell Booker fight, even Booker said it during the weigh in Toney is on the juice, what about Holyfield, since he is linked, who's to say he wasnt juicing all the time, what about Sugar Shane, who's to say he wasnt juicing all the time, funny thing about all these names, they are incredibly muscle toned guys, fast, strong pretty quick, none really ever been stopped without a referee stopping it, except Jones, good endurance for the most part, good endurance in Toney's case with the bouts he is presumed to be on the juice, he was a tank against Holyfield and other fights slightly before and after being linked. Just something to think about.
