I think I just broke my hand...any help?

I just punched my closet several times in anger and when I looked at the pinkie side of my hand it was disformed. I squeezed it with my other hand and felt and heard something snap back into place.

Wait a few hours and see if the swelling gets worse. You won't die from a broken hand so you don't have to make a fast decision. At least you were smarter than Zab and didn't punch a shower door and need stitches.

i split my middle knuckle once when i accidently punched the concrete. it hurt as hell and i couldn't see any of my knuckles for a few weeks but eventually it went down. just wait a few days and see. i don't know what kind of insurance you have so don't waste your money if it's not that serious.

you can tell when something serious is broken in a few days if the pain and sweeling don't go down.

You do not NEED to see a doctor. If you felt something "pop back into place" you probably dislocated something and it popped back in. Swelling will happen when you punch a door.... Wait a week or so and if you are still in exruciating pain then see a doctor, otherwise it is just a waste of a co-pay because they will probably just put you in one of those ****ty little splints for your hand that you can buy at walgreens for $5 anyways. You definitely dont NEED a doctor immediatly but, you might need to see an anger management counselor....

if so its probably a break/fracture.

I dislocated my (dont remember) ring or middle finger once...my friend popped it back into place and everything was fine and i've had no trouble since.

i think when mine popped out of place it blocked/pinched a vain because the finger started turing purple/black...soon as it went back into place everything was fine.

you should probably get that finger checked out by a doctor just to be safe.

ended up being a fracture. i definitely snapped the bone back into place after the punches. i actually felt it snap back into alignment. wish i had waited a bit and seen the advice in this thread about waiting because the xray didnt look so bad and i could move my pinkie well enough, but the dr. put a cast on it anyways. only $40 though, xray/dr.'s bill and all in thailand.
