Joe Calzaghe is out. Ricardo Mayorga is out. Marco Antonio Rubio is out. Now it appears that "Contender" season-one winner and current WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora is the likely opponent for WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik. The fight will take place on Sept. 27 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City or Oct. 18 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. [details]

Does Mora have the balls to face Pavlik??....He bitched out and refused to face Taylor when he was the undisputed middleweight champ....I would rather see Pavlik/Mora instead of Pavlik/Rubio....Hopefully Mora has the balls to face Pavlik and he vacates his 154 lb title.Comment

I actually don't hate this idea. It's a solid title defense against a guy who is a belt holder, and will be a nice little name to add to Pavlik's resume before the big showdown with Abraham. I believe it is a step up, in terms of bringing Kelly more name recognition, when compared to a fight with Rubio. Also it will be a bigger challenge than Mayorga, although it won't be as entertaining. I also would not mind seeing Mora get his ****ing skull crushed.Comment

I take back what I said:Does Mora have the balls to face Pavlik??....He bitched out and refused to face Taylor when he was the undisputed middleweight champ....I would rather see Pavlik/Mora instead of Pavlik/Rubio....Hopefully Mora has the balls to face Pavlik and he vacates his 154 lb title.
