Wed Night Fights July 23rd - Return of Jeff Lacy!

Yeah he's been belittled to the point of fighting on Wed night fights. He was on a local TV station last night making excuses why he looked like **** against Manfredo and promising to be back better than ever July 23rd. I'll tell ya he is my favorite fighter still but dman he sounds like Rid**** Bowe when he talks ( well not that bad) and was way out of character......I swear he sounded drunk and was talking mad ****....not like the Lacy I've always known and loved. He's also dumped Dan Birmingham and will be working with his trainer from waaaay back Roger Bloodworth.

Though I'd post this in case anyone besides myself gave a ****.....No opponent has been named but look for it to be a **** bum like Joey Spina or someone else relagated to Wed night fights on ESPN.

Yeah thats a name they mentioned but did say nothing was finalized.....That seems likely though.

Man, back in 05 he was the FUTURE man.. Its a shame.. Everyone thought he would take over.. He needs to build himself back up.. Hes young, he still has some time..

I hope that shoulder is healed..

U think dumping Bermingham was a good thing? He needs to get back to the basics..
Body shots, straight punches.. and brush up on that speed..

Its not tha bad that he is on Wed night fights.

His opponent isnt good enough for him to be on HBO or SHOWTIME, so rather then fight off TV he still gets a TV date.

He could easily get a FNF date if he wanted to im guessing.

I'm not sure about that.....I think Dan always gave him the right advice but he didn't follow it most of the time. He dioes have a very nice, hard jab he only uses for the first round or two and he defintely needs to get back to the basics.

In all honesty I would like to make a humble confession......I watched Lacy/Reid, Lacy/ Vanderpool and Lacy/Pemberton again recently and couldn't help but think to myself besides his sheer will, heart and aggression.....He's not that good of a fighter. He's avg but bullish and does have great heart. I have always followed him and liked his character......Plus he is a homegrown product so I fell in love with him as my favorite fighter.....But can't ever say he is,was or could be the best around because it's simply not true.
