So do you guys think a should just quit going to my boxing gym and train at home by myself and create my unique style just like roy jones jr?

Roy Jones Junior trains in Florida, in "The Dungeon", for around 6 months of the year. He does a lot of sparring there. From January to February this year, he sparred with Anthony Mundine for a couple of weeks straight. They have been doing it for a while. Same regimen. Mundine has been going there for 6 years.

Both RJJ's and his father, know what he can do good. But in saying that, word im hearing is that he barely lets his father coach him, even at "The Dungeon". And Jones Senior mainly sits on the side of the ring, coaching Mundine through sparring.

Then i have heard RJJ, moves around a fair bit in the search of good sparring partners.

I have now saw the videos. I acually think you have a little promise. Fast hands and decent boxing ethics. To be honest, fighting in that style will only get you hurt. Your boxing/gym instructor has the right idea. You should use your gaurd better. Keep the hands up high and get some side to side movement going. Most importantly, keep pumping the jab! A good jab can make an average fighter be able to set up power punches that will make him not look so ordinary and keep the opponents attack in check. Once you settle in to fighting a normal style, you can open up and become a little flashy, keeping the hands low and lunging in, etc.... But for now, I would keep it very minimal, since it will most likely get you hurt against someone with experience. A big factor in the equation is to get better sparring partners. The girl in the links was nobody that you should judge your skill based on fighting. You will need someone with a similar build with some ring or sparring experience. You will get nowhere fighting and playing around with someone so easy to control & with less skill that you. Remember, in boxing you must protect yourself at all times. If that includes keeping the hands high for now, so be it. You really need to get the feet wet before jumping in and trying to swim. One more thing, stay away from the impressions. They make you appear to be soft, and a fighter has to carry a hard core persona to the ring to even have a shot at intimidation. Good luck. Take care.

P.S. Keep the chin down and the gloves up! That will get you through a round or so.
