    The Truth!

We need to clear some things up. Arthur Abraham has terrible defense. Covering up in a shell and RUNNING is not defense.

People have been saying ****** things like AA was sitting in his shell looking for counters.

NO... just NO! AA was not looking for counters, AA was covering up. He was covered up in a manner that you CANT SEE.

That is not defense, that is covering up.

He didn't pick off any body shots with elbows, he just covered up in his shell and did nothing.

Im sick of people saying oh, he dominated!

    NO... just NO!

Arthur was doing absolutely nothing... NOTHING... just sitting in his shell... He look scared, and luckily for him, Miranda started to get wild, and AA can punch.

If Miranda wasn't such a ****** fighter, he could have easily walked off with a decision because AA was not being a defensive mastermind that was controlling the fight, he was a fighting like a scared man that didn't want to get hurt.

Covering up is a way of defence, Blocking and avoiding shots are both a form of defence ... If the punch doesn't connect, Its a defended shot.

******. Defense means preventing yourself from getting hurt, which Arthur Abraham does very effectively. The high guard is a fundamental defensive technique, as is covering the torso with the elbows. Not every boxer can be Floyd Mayweather.

I can think of one boxer who used to use a very similar technique and is widely hailed as a defensive genius: James Toney.

There would be no shame in losing to any of those guys.

I would have to disagree. The first knock down was a counter right hand when he was coming out of that defensive posture. He did an excellent job at timing Miranda throughout the fight and even wobbled him a couple of times earlier.

The thread starter makes some legitimate points... however, the fight Abraham fought was perfect against Miranda. Miranda won the first two rounds easily when AA was covering up, but when AA attacked in the third and fourth the fight didn't last very long.

So then hugging must be the most effective form of a defense in boxing.

I see that people are underestimating Abraham. The truth is, he is a very good fighter and would be a handful for any champion out there. The only fighter that i see having a field day with Abraham is Calzaghe, simply becuase of his footspeed, work rate and technical boxing ability.
