    Is Berto's Power over-rated?

Dont get me wrong, Berto is very talented and has extremely fast hands and is very accurate with his punches but he doesn't seem to have real power in his punches.

With the amount of super clean punches that he lands on guys it seems to take him a considerable amount of time to stop guys. This last guy was walking through some very clean punches as well. I know he dropped the kid but it seemed more based on excellent timing and accuracy.

    Anyone else agree?

He's more of an accumulative puncher who relies on his speed and accuracy to break down his opponents until he gets them out of there.

I was thinking the same thing. He reminds me of a Mayweather in the WW division. Mayweather stunned DLH with his speed and accuracy but didn't have real power. Berto on the other hand has more power but not that much more and is more reliant on the volume, and accuracy of his shots.

A Berto vs Judah/Clottey winner would be very very interesting.

          I agree.

A fight with the winner of Judah-Clottey would be a good step up for Berto, it would be interesting to see how he does.

I agree, but power should be the least of Berto's concerns. His foot movement really sucks. He's not very fast on his feet and as a very small WW that will cost him eventually. He can't take Cotto's, Margarito's or Clottey's power but he will have too. Williams will probably just outbox him unless he comes swinging, in that case TKO.

I would like to see how his speed matches up with Judah's. The way that Berto was once dropped is the exact same way that Judah sets up his sneaky uppercut.

The guy half turned away from Berto then hit him with the left.

I think the BEST first test for Berto would be Collazo..
Collazo is good, but not very good. A top fighter in the division thats not that much of a threat.

Clottey is too strong for Berto. Clottey has a tyte defense and has good pop.
Berto did improve in last nights fight. I have to admit.. I like watching him, but I don't see greatness..

Hes vulnerable, which makes him exciting..

Indeed, Judah's uppercuts could give Berto a lot to think about if they fight.

It would also interest me to see how he would deal with the size and combination punching of Clottey.

Yeah, Berto was dropped but a rear left upper cut from the southpaw stance.

Clottey is also tough because berto heavily favors the head and with Clottey's high guard he will need to go to the body.
