If Miranda moves up in weight, he will get beaten even worse

Today at 166 i noticed some differences:

    - He lost a bit of speed.

    - He seemed rather robotic, relying on a wild left uppercut. Although he did use his jab okay at the start.

    - His power diminished as he moved up into the higher catch weight.

Conclusion: I think if Miranda moves up he will get beaten even worse. Apparently he struggled to make the weight, saying he was 17 pounds over a week or so before the fight. If thats true, than he has serious weight problems. Because if he goes any higher than MW, hes going to be found out big time. His speed and power gets worse, whereas for most naturally heavier and stronger men like AA, its the opposite, it gets better. AA fills his frame well at a higher weight. To me Miranda looks more cut, but less powerful.

He will get annihilated if he moves up, he would be better off taking a bit of time off and trying to work things out at middleweight.

I think it's safe to say the "weight drained" excuse isn't going to work for last night.

Um, Miranda should retire. He has nothing. He can just go and beat bums though like he always did. That's all he was good at. He's not at the elite level. Abraham proved without all those illegal hits Miranda did on the first fight, he can't hang more than 4 rds with an elite. Although he lasted longer with Pavlik, Pavlik isn't as big bomber as Abraham.

Edison Miranda is still going to have a lucrative career. He'll be fighting for quite some time- even on HBO again. I don't think it's because of any great skill on his part; but I do feel Miranda is in a sort of niche role. If you put him in ESPN2 land- which is probably around where he belongs- he's just a bit too good for those guys. You'll get nasty, devestating KO's like the Banks fight. Move Edison up to fight the elite and he gets smacked down, though. So where does he belong? I think he's going to fill the role of "undercard stacker" and be used for years to come by promoters to ****e up PPV undercards with a guy who can deliver an exciting KO for the casual boxing fan; which Miranda will be able to do consistently.

I don't think it matters too much if he moves up or stays where he is. I think he has enough power to piddle around and KO lower tier fighters and journeymen for years to come.

Good observations. Miranda will be a popular TV fighter for years.

Miranda will get beat up badly in bigger weight classes...
Kessler, Taylor, Bute, Tsypko, Ward etc.. They all beat him.
