Abraham Destroys Miranda…How Long Until Kelly Pavlik?

By Cliff Rold - Hardcore fight fans have known about 28-year old German-based Armenian Middleweight Arthur Abraham (27-0, 22 KO) for a few years. Now the rest of the world knows too. Youngstown, Ohio’s World Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, who has spoken openly of a potential clash, saw his existing knowledge become a sweetened economic pot on Saturday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida as Abraham sensationally knocked out wild 27-year old Colombian slugger Edison Miranda (30-3, 26 KO) in four rounds.

The bout was a highly anticipated rematch of their 2006 brawl for Abraham’s IBF title at 160 lbs.; that title was not on the line as Miranda’s growth since chapter one dictated a catch weight of 166. Both men made the weight on Friday with Abraham in right at the contracted limit and Miranda just beneath at 165. [details]

I hope Rubio and Marquez would accept a step aside fee and allow the MW Champions to fight it out.

Yeah they have to make this fight. It is the most logical match-up to make and it would be a very good fight. I would pick Kelly but only just.

It would be better for AA and KP to fight those two on the same card and build the fight's bank up to the level of pain they will apply to each other.

            Pavlik broke Miranda's chin.

Agreed. Showcase them both so that the public can get to know these guys.

The fight between Abraham and Pavlik should happen soon considering both fighters are coming off of knockout wins in early rounds and didn't sustain much damage in the process.

Posting for potential ******s out there:

Pavlik didn't ruin Miranda ...he'd been hurt severely many times, including several staggers from Abraham, well before Pavlik. He's an Ernie Shavers type; great puncher, fun to watch, but the stamina and chin just aren't quite what he needs.
